Professional Indemnity Solicitor
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Professional Indemnity lawyer to join a highly regarded specialist insurance litigation practice in London at Senior Assoicate Level. Acting for insurers and a wide range of professionals, this role offers exposure to complex, high-value disputes together with the opportunity to take on a leadership position within a growing team.
This position would suit a talented Associate or Senior Associate looking to step into a role that combines technical legal work, supervision responsibilities and business development opportunities.
Role Overview
Joining a well-established Professional Indemnity team, you will lead a varied caseload of complex and high-value claims, including multi-party litigation and coverage disputes. The role spans the full lifecycle of disputes, from pre-action strategy through to alternative dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration.
You will work with insurer clients and professionals across a broad range of sectors, including architects, engineers, surveyors, solicitors, accountants, brokers and independent financial advisers.
Alongside managing your own caseload, you will play an active role in supervising junior lawyers, supporting client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
Candidate Profile / Experience Needed
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years’ PQE
- Strong defendant professional indemnity experience
- Experience acting for insurers and insured professionals
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- The ability to manage, mentor and develop junior team members
- Strong communication and client relationship-building skills
- A commercial and proactive approach to business development
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of high-value and complex professional indemnity disputes
- Advising insurers on professional negligence and coverage matters
- Handling matters through litigation, arbitration and ADR processes
- Leading on multi-party disputes and strategically important claims
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
- Building and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Supporting business development initiatives and networking activities
- Delivering commercially focused advice to insurer clients and professionals
