Employment Solicitor 0-2 PQE
A highly regarded Legal 500 and Top 150 law firm is seeking a Newly Qualified to 2 Years PQE Employment Solicitor to join its expanding Employment team in Wigan working on a hybrid basis with 2 days in the office per week.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior employment lawyer looking to build a long-term career within a friendly, successful and growing team that offers genuine exposure to both claimant and respondent employment work. Unlike many employment practices that specialise in only one side of the market, this role provides the opportunity to develop a broad and commercially valuable skill set across contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
The Opportunity
Working alongside experienced employment specialists, you will advise both employers and employees on a varied caseload covering:
- Employment Tribunal litigation
- Day-to-day employment law and HR advisory work
- Contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Merit assessments and case strategy
- Settlement agreements
- Disciplinary and grievance matters
- Redundancy and restructuring advice
- Employment documentation and contracts

The Ideal Candidate
Applications are welcomed from Solicitors with up to two years’ PQE who can demonstrate:
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor with up to 2 years’ PQE
- Strong interest in developing a career in Employment Law
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Positive, proactive and collaborative approach to work
Desirable
- Previous employment law experience
- Experience handling insurance panel work
- Exposure to Employment Tribunal litigation
- Experience conducting merits assessments on tribunal claims
Candidates with a genuine passion for employment law and a desire to specialise will be considered, even if their experience does not perfectly match every requirement.
