Serious Injury Solicitor
Role Overview
A leading national law firm is seeking a personal injury solicitor (2–5 PQE) to join its specialist Military Personal Injury team. This is a rare opportunity to develop expertise in a highly regarded and niche area of claimant work, supporting Armed Forces personnel and their families following serious or life-changing injuries.
The successful candidate will work closely with a recognised expert in military claims while also developing their own caseload. The role involves handling complex, high-value matters including serious injury and catastrophic injury claims, service-related incidents (on and off duty), inquests and associated investigations.
The position can ideally be based in Birmingham or Nottingham. Hybrid working is supported, with travel required to meet clients across the UK.
Candidate Profile / Experience Needed
This role would suit a claimant Personal Injury Solicitor looking to move into more complex and meaningful work, even without prior military claims experience.
Key requirements include:
- 2–5 years’ PQE with strong claimant experience in serious injury, catastrophic injury or complex multi-track PI matters.
- Genuine interest in working with Armed Forces personnel and their families.
- Ability to manage and progress complex cases with sensitivity and attention to detail.
- Strong client care, communication and analytical skills.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable clients.
- Willingness to travel nationally to meet clients (clean driving licence required).
- Interest in business development and building relationships with referrers and support organisations.
