In a 'Candidate Driven' marketplace, the following areas are still more likely to attract a premium: Corporate Finance, Banking, PFI, Competition, Pensions, Tax and more recently Commercial Property. This is often because of one or more of the following reasons:

  • Shortage of good candidates
  • 'Magic Circle' City candidates
  • Relocation
  • Bringing a following
  • Outstanding billing performance
  • Strong track record of introducing new work to the firm

In terms of bonus, this may be awarded to all employees if a firm has enjoyed an increased turnover.
